” Each year, UNICEF Germany grants the “UNICEF Photo of the Year Award” to photos and photo series that best depict the personality and living conditions of children all around the world. Third prize has been awarded to American photographer Mary F. Calvert for her work in Nigeria.
Mary F. Calvert is an award-winning photographer who travels the globe documenting a wide range of issues. A natural storyteller; she remains a true believer that the light cast by photojournalism is capable of affecting meaningful social change.
